Create Your Own Holiday: Corporate Gift Basket Giving Occasions

It is no surprise that everyone expects gifts during the holidays. If you want to continue to build a strong relationship with your company, the clients and employees, try giving gifts when it is least expected. Acknowledging non-holiday occasions is a great way to strengthen the bond between your company, clients and employees. Here are five non-holiday occasions in which you can present gifts as a token of your appreciation.

·         Surprise clients on their birthday

Make your client feel like they matter on their special day. Studies have shown that the reason clients change their loyalty from one company to the next is because they feel like they don’t matter. Show your clients that you appreciate their business. Emphasize that your customers do matter by sending them a card with a special message inside or a small promotional product on their special day. You can’t go wrong with something as small as a key ring or a magnet to remind them that their business is appreciated. When it comes to your employees, show them that you care as well. Why not have everyone in the office chip in and purchase a coffee gift basket to get them through a hard day of work.

·         Acknowledge your staff and other business you associate with

Sometimes business people don’t pay attention to the support staff at companies where they do the most business. You can catch their attention by recognizing those at other companies who contribute to your relationship. Is there a receptionist at a company you do business with who is always on top of her priorities when it comes to you and her boss? Thank her with a small gift on Secretary Appreciation Day. Not only will the gift put a smile on her face, her boss will be sure to hear about it.

·         Recognize business achievements

Having your company recognized by outsiders is very rewarding.  There is nothing like knowing your business community and acknowledging those who keep your business going. You can turn the most simple and inexpensive gifts into something memorable by adding a small note relating to an employee’s achievement.

·         Acknowledge business occasions

It is important to remember business anniversaries, promotions of your employees or associates. To congratulate the individual, from the company or yourself personally, it would be thoughtful to present the employee or associate with a wine gift basket. If the associate or employee does not drink, try a basket with non-alcoholic beverages like sparkling cider or hot cocoa.

·         Establish a relationship with a new business in town

Is there a better way to say ‘welcome’ other than a gift? You remember your first day as a new business and how you tried to get your company off the ground. Wouldn’t it make you feel some sort of comfort if the company down the street welcomed you to the neighborhood with a gift? Introduce yourself and your services but do not make it look like you are trying to benefit your company only. There are ways to avoid making it look like you are promoting your business. A company can always use coupons for coffee or breakfast treats. You can also sneak in coffee mugs, pencils, or pens with the company logo. This is a creative way to artfully promote your company. This way the new company of the neighborhood will feel comfortable enough to ask your company for services if needed. Gift baskets are also a good way to subtly endorse your company. Try giving the new company a gourmet gift basket or a tea gift basket.

Take these ideas into consideration and you will be sure to leave a lasting impression on your associates, employees, your company and many others to come.
